A Few Facts About Manufacturing Steel Pipes

Steel tubes are manufactured in various forms and are used in many different industries for various purposes. 

The steel tube made in various shapes, sizes and thicknesses, depending on what they need to; sometimes they are cylindrical, but other times they are round, rectangular or shaped into rolls.

A ‘stainless steel tube pipe’ (Also known as ‘ท่อเหล็กสแตนเลส’ in the Thai language) manufacturer can make these components in different ways. Pipes can be made seamless and welded or they can be made of a metal alloy mixture. 

Some manufacturers use scrap metal to make this too. In the case of scrap metal, to be disbursed. During the fusing process, other elements such as chromium, manganese and more are added to the mix to create the desired chemistry.

Once the material has melted, they moved to a refiner. During the repair process, a lot more undesirable elements are eliminated and a more desirable component added to the case of steel is the appropriate chemical and violence.

Once the desired mix has been created, the liquid can be poured into the mold. Once in the mold, the steel cools into ingots.

If the steel is to be formed into a plate or sheet, or a round object, like a bar or rod, the material is shaped using large rollers that apply a lot of pressure.

To create a bloom, which is what will be formed into steel pipes, ingots are inserted through the rollers that move in opposite directions to squeeze and stretch the material into thin, long strips. Once the bloom is made, then further processed into what is called a billet.

A billet is blooming even longer and narrower. It is cut and stacked, then finally formed into a ‘seamless steel pipe’ (Also known as ‘ท่อเหล็กไร้รอยต่อ’ in the Thai language).

The part is then placed in a furnace to heat up and then rolled. In order to create a nice round shape, piercer, which is shaped like a bullet, placed through the middle of the billet is currently being rolled.

Billet also can work in a welded steel pipe. Once the desired shape has been achieved, the pipeline passes a straightening machine. They could have added joints or connected to another pipe; threading can be added as well.

Steel pipe manufacturers make components for transporting gas, as power lines and for pipes. These pipes range in size from small and very thin, such as syringes, for thick and sturdy for more heavy-duty work.
